This is the Michelin House. It was the main office of the Michelin Tyre Company in the UK. Does “Michelin Man” ring any bells to anyone? His image can be seen on the green-covered Michelin Guides.
This is the Nell Gwyn House. She is most famous as being the actress who became Charles II’s thirteen mistresses. Sounds like a pretty wholesome girl if you ask me…haha. Apparently Charles thought so as well because he created a private road for her.
Here we have the house of Braham Stoker—author of Dracula! You can’t see it in the picture, but he had a hexagonal mailbox that has been in use since Queen Victoria’s day. Poor guy…he probably didn’t get too much mail.
Chelsea Pensioners Hospital: This building was designed by the ever famous Christopher Wren, housed hundreds of soldiers, and is the current site where retired military men come to live.
This is a Pagoda in Battersea Park. It is a Japanese Peace Pagoda constructed in 1985 by Japanese Buddhists.
